FAQs, cleaning, and designing with artificial greenery:
- Even though they are referred to as silk, most faux greenery stems such as our hanging Boston fern are made with combinations of plastic, polyester, and wire
- Occasionally dust your floral arrangements with a feather duster. You can wash artificial plants under running water, held upside down. Do not fully submerge in water.
- The base stems are overly long and sturdy. Feel free to trim the length with wire cutters
- If you are making a permanent floral arrangement in a traditional container, you’ll want to anchor your greenery in dry floral foam. Dry floral foam does not hold water and offers a sturdy base to hold your plants
- You may hot glue your floral foam to your container interior, although if you’re not mailing or moving your arrangement, it’s not necessary
- Cover your floral foam with dry moss or pebbles
- Now the fun starts. Insert as many faux plants into your container as will fit
- Be creative. Feel free to cut, trim, and divide your stems into smaller parts. Sturdy wire cutters will work
- Artificial greenery and stems ship flat. You’ll want to bend and shape them on arrival
- A common design rule is to use quantities in odd numbers, such as 3, 5, and 7 stems per flower variety.
- Enjoy!
