FAQs, cleaning, and designing with artificial Staghorns and other air plants:
- Most faux Staghorn ferns and air plants are made with combinations of plastic, polyester, and wire
- Occasionally dust your stag horns with a feather duster.
- Damp cleaning is not recommended for plants that are flocked.
- The base stems are often short and sturdy. Trim with wire cutters
- Anchor your stag horn plants in dry floral foam. Dry floral foam does not hold water and offers a sturdy base to hold your plants
- You may hot glue your floral foam to your container interior, although if you’re not mailing or moving your arrangement, it’s not necessary
- Cover your floral foam with dry moss, pebbles, or decorative sand
- Also, try anchoring your stag horn to wood panels hung vertically
- Staghorns can be stapled directly to growing boards or other sturdy surfaces. Shape after installing on your backdrop
- Not designed for full sun, although will work outdoors on shaded patios and porches
